Brand New CRE Loaded PCI Pro v6.4 is here
CRE Loaded team recently released “CRE Loaded PCI v6.4″. This version has CE (Community Edition) formally know as Standard, PRO and B2B.
Most of you will notice that “PCI” have been added in name of the product, this is because now CRE Loaded PCI v6.4 is PCI complient eCommerce software.
The PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) is an information security standard developed by PCI SSC (Payment Card Industry Security Standards Concil). The standard was developed to help companies/organizations which process card payment prevent CC fraud using increased controls for data and its exposure. Any organization which hold, process, or pass CC holder information from any CC should apply the controls developed by PCI.
The PCI compliance have caused many changes in admin area, checkout etc etc. The new version now also includes HTMLPurifier class in ext folder. Many <br /> tags have been changed to <br> tag, lot for blank lines removed from end of the files, changes in payment related pages, logo and many other things have been modified.
Forgot to mention a big changes 6.4 CE is free, and no longer requires a serial number to activate. That is very good news for people who want to start using CRE Loaded.
One important change Google Base feed section has been removed from this new version. This was due to its failure in code quality review process.
So be aware of updating to this version. CRE Team stated that the tool will be back soon but don’t know when
